THE TRAILBLAZER 2025 Seed-propagated Sencha

After decades of slumber, in 2019 the method of seed-propagation was taken up by a group of tea enthusiasts in tandem with the highly skilled tea farmer Yoshiki Kosugi. Seeds were collected from cultivars strong in aroma such as Kondōwase and Kōshun, and the result is this tea that delightfully defies exciting definitions and common tea sense. It has the sense of wilderness of a zairai tea, yet also possess the refined aromas of an Indian crossbreed. Old meets new, and offers a glimpse into a possible and exciting future.
